Rehabilitating, widening and upgrading arterial roads are a Bitu-mill speciality. A good example is our work upgrading two sections of the Mornington–Tyabb Road, a major arterial road on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Working closely with the Department of Transport and APA, our Infrastructure team removed and then widened degraded pavement shoulders, laid a new subbase topped with 200mm of deep lift asphalt and installed new lines, signs and barriers, including a section of the new pavement that was over an existing gas line. Self-performing the majority of work, with our own equipment, we minimised disruption to the community by informing them well in advance of upcoming works and ensured the Moorooduc Primary School had complete safe and unencumbered access during works.
