Binns Road – Cement/Lime Stabilisation works being undertaken at Binns Road, Beech Forest for Colac Otway Shire by Bitu-Mill’s Rural Civil Division. The large sized, but variable base thickness of the existing road, made it perfect for a slag lime blend for stabilisation. The addition of a granular overlay and seal should ensure it holds up to the continual logging traffic we have seen throughout the site works. The job has been challenging, with inclement weather being experienced from early on in the project. Sometime when it was blue skies only 40kms to the North in Colac.
The Urban Civil team has successfully completed Stage 12 of Wallara Waters on time, safely and with a quality finish product. Well done to all involved. Great work!

Bitu-mill strive to be ahead of the pack and when it comes to safety we make no exceptions. Our fleet of bobcats and profilers have now all been fitted with newly released LED perimeter lighting. This initiative is giving those on site a clear visual boundary between themselves and the machine, further minimising the potential for personal injury to occur.
