Overview

Bitu-mill were successful on tendering to work on the first package of flood recovery works released by the Buloke Shire Council. The package included 6 roads in the northern reaches of the Shire working from Berriwillock to Quambatook.

Scope

Construction of concrete flood ways

  • Construction of a full concrete floodway pavement
  • Construction of concrete edge beams to protect flood way pavements

Drainage and shaping works

  • Installation, shaping and lowering of key drainage assets to assist with future flood protection

Pavement Rehabilitation

  • Excavation and salvaging of flood damaged pavements
  • Use of local resources and materials to rebuild roadways
  • Completion of both spray-sealed and asphalted wearing courses
  • Extensive use of stabilisation of salvaged and insitu materials

Outcomes

  • Works completed to high quality with exceptional finishes and tidy sites

  • Win – win attitude at play with negotiation on additional works awarded and attached to the contract

  • Exceptionally satisfied customer resulting in the award of an additional 3 packages of flood recovery works

  • Happy workers and local crews enjoying the return of Bitu-Mill to the Buloke Shire
